Roundup 28 November: Sharon Van Etten, Tiny Ruins, French for Rabbits & more!
28th Nov 2018
Kia ora whanau! It's been forever, I know - sometime soon I'll do a roundup of the last, uh, two months since the last newsletter for but now, here's this week, cos it's a good'un!
Sharon Van Etten - Jupiter 4
Oh my god, this is fucking pristine, I love it so much. Just get it in your ears right now.
Elle PF - She Wrote It
This one came into the inbox with a subject line of "FEMINIST ORCHESTRAL ROCK" and that immediately got my attention, and then the intro to the first track is just so fucking good I was immediately hooked. Give the whole album a listen, you won't regret it.
French for Rabbits - Highest Hill
New tune from French for Rabbits! Exciting! It's a bit of a shift for them, with a bit more electronic production alongside the folky influences - and it really works.
Tiny Ruins - School of Design
The second single from upcoming album Olympic Girls, this is a gorgeous tune. I feel like it really hearkens back to her early releases - very excited for the album.
Solomon Crook - Race Car
Finally, a new track from Solomon Crook - I really dig this one, it's poppy with a real good grove and an incredibly catchy melody. The video is... a little intense
That's all for this week! If you're Ōtautahi-based, some of the Fun Natural Fun babes are DJing at CoCA's Chills & Thrills this Friday, and then the whole crew is back at Space Academy on the 21st!
